Persistence

[SlideDeck id=’75’ width=’100′ height=’300px’] Persistence is an essential factor in being successful. Combine this with will-power and desire and when properly combined make an irresistible pair. Some people mis-read this combination as cold-blooded and ruthless in those who are successful – in fact, it is their sheer determination to achieve their desires.

Most people will throw in all their dreams and desires at the first sign of opposition or misfortune – a few carry on despite all opposition, untill they attain their goals. As Napoleon Hill said “Weak desire brings weak results, just a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat. If you find yourself lacking in persistence, this weakness may be remedied by building a stronger fire under your desires”

What can we do then to permanently establish this state of mind:

  1. Be very clear in the direction that you want to go
  2. Build your desire – focus on what the object is that you desire and think about it every day and imagine it already being in your possession
  3. Believe in your self. Believe that you can follow the plan to success
  4. Plan. Get organised – encourages persistence
  5. Knowledge. Obtain that specialised knowledge if you need to – keep your personal development growing
  6. Harmony – sympathy, understanding and harmonious co-operation with others
  7. Will-power – the habit of concentrating thoughts upon the building of plans for the attainment of a definite purpose, leads to persistence
  8. Habit – persistence is the result of habit.

So, take that inventory of yourself and be aware of which of the above you are lacking – be brave!!!
